OK -- as Sir Tristan posted "Therefore, having a vote at tonight's meeting would not be in violation of this, or any other, printed rule and would be consistent with Marwen's instructions." True enough. But also, as our esteemed chronicler points out, the previous notifications on this in the Quill did NOT mention any kind of vote. Those only informed us that the group was forming.
Whether or not the barony's policies mandate it, wouldn't we be both courteous and wise to let as many of the populace/ourselves know as early as possible that our opinions would be directy asked for at tonight's meeting?
I don't think we want to start with the possible appearance that the vote was not well-publicized, disallowing people to provide their thoughts and feelings. People who may not regularly attend Wed meetings, may have an opinion on this item.

Here is the only section I found which has any mention of a requirement for posting in the Quill:Section I.K. Any policy amendment desired shall be proposed in a general business meeting. This proposal will then be published in the Crystal Quill, and then be voted on by the populace of Nordskogen present at the next general business meeting. The vote regarding the canton is quite clearly not a policy amendment. Therefore, having a vote at tonight's meeting would not be in violation of this, or any other, printed rule and would be consistent with Marwen's instructions.Tristan
