[Nordskogen] [northerncanton] Vote for Baronial Canton Suppor

Greetings Nordskogen,

The following is what was printed in the Crystal Quill in Aprils issue. 
I do not see anything about a vote happening this evening. I will add 
however, that unfortunately the business meeting notes from April was 
not sent to me to be included in the Mays issue so I am not sure if it 
was addressed at that time.

Unto the Great and Glorious Barony of Nordskogen,

In an effort to create social opportunities among the northern members 
of the Barony of Nordskogen, a group of us have begun the process to 
form a canton.

 

In order to move forward we are planning on being on the May business 
meeting agenda to ask for the Baronies sponsorship so that we can keep 
moving forward. So please attend and show your support.

 

    We have created a Yahoo group to help facilitate communication among 
members of the group and the Barony. This Yahoo group is called the 
*Northern Canton Group*.

 

To become a member of the Northern Canton Group please contact Lord

to Yahoo Groups and look up, Northern Canton Group. We have to allow you 
on the site. This is to make sure there are no spammers.

 

On every Thursday in a month the northern group known as the forming 
Village of Blachemere holds gatherings. The first Thursday we hold our 
monthly meeting. The rest of the Thursdays are used for armoring nights, 
blacksmithing nights, and project nights. Times and what is happening 
that Thursday will be posted on the group sight. The first Thursday will 
always be our meeting night. Times and places are also posted on the 
group list.

 

No group is successful without the cooperation of its members. This will 
be a collective process to add to the social and growth potential within 
the Baronial lands.

We see this as an opportunity for more flavor and fun in the Barony, as 
well as a support group for members in the far Northern lands.

 

Listed below are some of the benefits for becoming a canton of the 
Barony of Nordskogen:

·        New Opportunities for members in the canton to support each 
other and create venues of play that will benefit not only the Barony 
but our neighbors to the north.

·        The ability to recognize people who may not be able to spend as 
much time as they would like with the rest of such a large Barony.

·        Cantons enhance the Barony by fostering the growth of interest 
groups and potentially bringing in new members.

·        Greater opportunities for those wising to serve Northshield and 
the SCA as an autocrat, feast-o-crat, or officer.
