[Nordskogen] Need Northshield support for Mercenaries at Pennsic

Greetings,

 

For the past many years Northshield (or a group within Northshield) has
hired the Mercenary group ArgentLupe to fight with us at Pennsic.  They’ve
been our friends, our comrads in arms, they’ve bolstered our Army by
anywhere from 15-30 men, lately a balista’s, and several waterbearers.  For
those of you who know Pennsic, they have the black banner with the white
wolf head howling and their encampment is across from Lost Boys on the road
leading from N19 to the battlefield.  

 

Well, this year there is great news for Northshield.  Through a series of
Mercenary groups hiring other groups and all banding together, Northshield
is now hiring ArgentLupe who has ‘subcontracted’ 8 other groups giving us a
mercenary force of about 90 fighters, 4 balista’s, and an unknown amount of
waterbearers.  This force is greatly need to balance the sides at Pennsic
and added to the Northshield Army makes Northshield a very formidable ally
and foe.  

 

This doesn’t come for free, but it is very reasonable and based upon being
cool with how Mercenaries choose to play in the SCA.  The contact for
ArgentLupe, Christian, has said:

 

“ArgentLupe has always been about honor and the fun factor of things when it
comes to payment. We traditionally have always looked for something for
everyone in the group...a trinket of sorts, a trinket to hang from our
battlefield banner, and a marshal for armor inspections in camp. We have
fought beside NorthShield in one way or another since Pennsic War 32, and we
have always been treated fairly and honorably. It is because of this
treatment that we come back time and time again. I would like to continue
with our traditional payment, but we are not above accepting any other
donations that may come our way. We are planning on bringing to the field a
rather large group of mercenaries, because of this we have tried to pay for
most of the fighters. This is a hobby and all of us are here to have fun. I
do not ever want to break anyone's bank account or have them enjoy their war
less because of trying to pay for some mercenary fighters. I have purchased
the "WarLords" of each group for this coming war and would like to ask that
they receive part of the payment that will come our way.”

 

Here is where I need Northshield’s support, I am gathering goods for a
payment.  Typically this has consisted of various alcoholic contributions,
jewelry/trinkets for the ladies, neat A&S things, fighter stuff like duct
tape, rattan, foam padding, armor bits, water bottles, and various other
treats.  I am going to try and collect the booty by WW this year (except for
the large things that need to be brought to Pennsic or sent to Pennsic).
Here is a list of things I’m looking for and that can be added to, I will
publish this list regularly so everyone can see who’s contributed to the war
effort and in hopes that it will help boost contributions!

 

Alcoholic Contributions

Ideas: Bead necklaces, card woven belts, veils, jewelry boxes, oils/scents,
candles 

 

A&S Stuff

Ideas:  Wood working, fabric, armoring caps, blank black tabards

 

Nice Item for each of the 9 Warlords

Ideas:  Pennsic 37 Banner with all the mercenary group devices and
Northshield’s device, armor items (gauntlets, helms, etc), chairs, mug
pained with device, drinking horns
