Greetings and Salutations do we, Lady Isabella Beatrice della Rosa (called
Belle) and Lady Ellen de Wynter, send unto the populace of Nordskogen. We
hope this missive finds you in good health and in the company of good people.

Lady Ellen and I are running an event in October and we are in need of your
help. The event is called “Creating the Creative, SCA 1001” and it is a day
of classes for newcomers and old-timers alike who want to learn something
new! This is going to be a non-garbed event with the sole purpose of getting
people involved in different aspects of the SCA by holding beginners' classes
in anything and everything. While we would like to hold "What to expect"
style classes for people new to the Society, we would love to see 1001 classes on
anything that would interest people from arts and sciences to volunteering
to the martial arts. We want classes that would introduce people to something
new they haven’t tried before.

Here is where your gracious help would me most welcome. We need teachers -
many, many teachers - willing to teach any kind of beginner's level class in
an area of interest. Arts and Sciences are a given, but we would love
classes that explained how to run an event, what it takes to be an Event Steward, a
Feast Steward, or a Volunteer Coordinator. We need volunteers to teach
classes on “what to expect at your first event” or “what to bring to your first
camping event” or “what to expect at your first court”, etc.. We would
also love to see teachers willing to give classes on administrative duties
required for offices, from the regional level to kingdom level. The idea is to
give people a non-intimidating way to explore trying something they wanted to
try but were unsure where to begin or who to ask. We are open to any class
ideas so if there was something you wanted to interest people in, and were able
to teach a beginner’s level class on it, please let us know!

The event will be held on October 18, 2008 at the Bunker Hills Regional Park
Activities Center Building in Andover, MN. If you are interested in
helping us with this, please send us word at either belledelarosa at charter.net (for
Belle) or ladyellenthewise at yahoo.com (for Ellen). Please include your SCA
name, your modern name, the title (or idea) of your class, and an e-mail
address where we can contact you. Further, if you could spread the word around
about our event to the members of your community we would very much appreciate
it. We believe this would be especially beneficial to any newer members of
your local group. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you
may have and we look forward to hearing from you!

Yours Ever in Service to the Dream,
Lady Isabella Beatrice della Rosa (called Belle) and Lady Ellen de Wynter
