CANCELLATION --- RE: [Nordskogen] Archery Moot Tomorrow - Sunday, May 6th @ 1 PM

Hello Folks,

Mother Nature has not been kind to us today.  Due to weather (wind condition
& possible rain) we have had to cancel the Archery Moot today.  At this
point in time the two Porta's that we rented for the day have blown over.
We realize that this message is going out late so if you know of someone
that was planning on going and they can be contacted by you please do so.

viði hovdestad is out at the range right now and will be meeting people to
let them know it has been cancelled if they should arrive without seeing
this message or hearing from one of you.  viði can also be reached by cell
phone (651-485-7009) if you have need to call him at the range.

Tomorrow, Sunday May 6th, Nordskogen will be holding an archery moot
starting at 1 PM at the outdoor range in Bloomington.  The city has groomed
the park (mowed grass, replaced bales) and it is ready for us to use.

Bring out your equipment to be inspected and ensure that it is ready to use
for the summer, there will be basic supplies on hand for any repairs needed,
such as reglue fletching, straighten arrows, glue on tips and nocks or get
wax for your bowstring.

Looking to get started in archery, there will be loaner equipment on hand
for both kids and adults.  See the different types of equipment available
and find out what works for you without having to purchase any equipment
first.

We will have both standard and novelty targets to test your skill and luck
at.  With Schutzenfest only a few months away this is a great
 time to get back into practice and used to shooting non-standard targets.
One of the shoots is derived from a reference to what it took to be
considered a good Persian archer, how will you do even after we remove the
element of having to do it from horseback?  There will also be a novelty
shoot for the kids with lots of balloons that are ready and waiting to be
popped.  (This moot will not use targets from Schutzenfest).

Additionally we will be providing BBQ grills for anyone who would like to
bring food to grill for themselves.  This site does not have any drinking
water available but we will be bringing some with.  

The moot will be held at the Marsh Lake archery range in Bloomington, MN.
This is a public achery range, free to the public so there is no site fee.
The range is located on France Ave, south of 90th street.  To get to the
site, take your best route to France and I-494.  Head South on France Ave
for about 1 mile.  The park is on the Left (East) side of the road as you
head south of 90th street (across from the soccer fields near 94th).

Archers, if you have equipment that you would like to demonstrate or make
available for others to see, please bring it along.  This is a great time to
show off the equipment that you use or have made.  Do you have a novelty
shoot idea that you would like to try out?  Bring along targets and let me
know, we may be able to work it in so that you can get feedback on what
works.

If you know of anyone not on the Nordskogen list that would like to attend,
please feel free to forward this information along.
