For the record, as one who is now fighting both styles, I'd like to
see the practices stay on separate nights. Instead of doing "either,
or" every week in terms of what I (and others) will fight, it'd be
nice to be keep having the option of doing heavy one night and rapier
another. Given everything else that happens on Weds. nights (business
meeting, social, rapier, classes, court/moot, and so on), packing one
more thing in will allow that much less time to do others.
Admittedly, like Niklos, it's a matter of convenience for me - I can
only make every other Weds., so having both practices on that night
makes it even harder to fit in both heavy and rapier. Keeping them
separate makes my fighting life easier, but I know that isn't the case
for everyone else. Ditto combining the practices, too. What works for
some will not work for others. It sounds like it will be a matter of
weighing and balancing logistics and preferences (and space usage, in
case one or both communities begin to grow again) once we're settled
in. I trust the KM and the GRM to figure out what will work best for
the most people.
Personally, I'm just happy the populace will have a better place to
fight and meet. :)
regards,
Simon
