(please forgive the cross-postings)

This message has been provided as a free service of “College of Onomastics, Weirdness, Blazoning of Ordinaries & Of Monsters” (COW-BOOM), a division of the Northshield Heraldic Network.
  ========

We’ve worked really hard to put together nifty classes on a variety of scribal and heraldic topics – topics that would be interesting even for non-heraldry geeks. Really!

Plus, we’ve got a SOCIETY OFFICER attending the event! PLEASE come (in droves, even) so that we have good attendance to show her our appreciation!

The Wreath Queen of Arms will be teaching a class and hosting her March decision meeting (called the Wreath Roadshow) at the event.
(Who/what is the Wreath Queen of Arms? Good question. I had to check, myself. Currently, Wreath is in charge of Devices, primarily, but helps with decisions on all topics.)

What is the “Wreath Roadshow?” Have you ever wondered what happened when a submission leaves kingdom? Or why it takes so long to get armory registered? Or just how registration decisions are made? Come to the Roadshow and find out the answers to your questions. Wreath will be holding part of her March decision meeting at the Northshield Heraldic & Scribal Symposium. Come help, watch, and learn.

A sampling of classes being offered this year includes:
A Survey of Heraldic Display through the Ages
  Paper Marbling
Displaying your Device in the SCA
  Using the Internet to Research
  Chemistry for Scribes
  How to submit your name/device
  Inkwork Embellishment
  Name Research 101
  Gilding
  Historiated Initials
  Vocal projection
  Botanicals for the Scribe
  How to Herald a Tourney
  Genealogical Sources for Name Documentation
  Scribal Inspiration
How to Host a Consulting Table
  Conflict checking using Armorial Descriptions
  AND MORE!

There will be a “Show and Tell” display area and we strongly encourage attendees to bring scrolls received and/or produced, spiffy books, your personal and group's heraldic banner, and even miscellaneous heraldic/scribal crafts (garb, tablet woven belts, black work, etc...) to display and share. Don’t be shy – please bring things you’ve made, regardless of the medium.

There will also be a RAFFLE (cool stuff!) and a full day of children's activities.

Connect with your Inner Pursuivant at the Northshield Heraldic & Scribal Symposium on March 24th - join us for a wonderful day of heraldry and scribal arts. Look for a list of classes and schedule on the event website at: http://www.shireofrockhaven.org
