Seeing as how this is local for 'Skogeners, I thought there might a
few interested parties out there.

The Oakeshott is a wonderful resource right here in the Cities, and I
highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in history, weaponry,
or historical combat. Besides, where else can you handle a 13th
century longsword, among a host of other historical blades? C'mon!

The Medieval Sword
Reality and Myth

An Introduction to the Medieval Sword
by Craig Johnson will be presented at
The Oakeshott Institute

The medieval sword is an iconic artifact from our past, but much
of its history has been obscured by misrepresentation in popular
media. This exploration will highlight numerous aspects that
define the medieval sword and explore some of the myths.
Discover why the truth behind the sword is far more interesting
than what the movies tell us.
