Reminder: The deadline for submissions to the February issue of _The Crystal Quill_ is NOON on this Saturday, January 20.
Now, this is my birthday, so consider it a birthday present to me that your submissions are numerous and on time. :o)

Weaving, spinning, knitting, embroidery, dyeing... you name it. Tell the Barony what you know about period practices and modern re-creation. Share your recommendations for folks just starting out, or an experience that stands out for you.
Youre welcome to write a multi-page article or just jot down an anecdote or some quick tips, thoughts, or resources.
What I'm looking for:
- articles (anecdotes are great!)
- suggested resources for further reading (Internet or hardcopy)
- artwork! (sketches and cartoons are great)
- announcements (birthdays, anniversaries, archaeology finds,
"classifieds," you name it)
- THEMES! Yes, themes. Im almost out. What do you think would be a
great theme for an issue of _The Crystal Quill_?
Please read the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES found on the _Crystal Quill_ page of the Nordskogen Web site, www.nordskogen.northshield.org/quill.html. THESE ARE IMPORTANT!
Also consider starting an article now one on of the other upcoming themes:

- Apr 07 -- legendary beasts, fantastical objects and whimsical tales (Share what you know about your favorites from period. Two excellent examples from Samia are the "understandably rare" Egyptian handkerchief woven from the down of phoenix feathers -- it was fire-proof and was tossed into the cook fire to get it clean and the giant bats that would fly out of cinnamon trees to blind would-be harvesters -- which
This is YOUR newsletter. Send me cool stuff!
