Journeyman's Chest at Autumn Rose
The first foray into creations for the Journeyman's chest was a success. It was scheduled after regular youth activities were done to ensure that we didn't dilute the other great youth activities organized by the diligent (and lovely) Lady Brigid Caomhánach. These included cutting your own feather quill and the scavenger hunt.
In all, the youth at Autumn Rose produced 15 items for the Crown including:
5 pearl necklaces embellished with a pulsar star (in various kingdom's colors)
+ 2 1/2 for kids to take home with them.
4 Cup covers with beaded edges (again in various kingdom's colors)
3 game boards for the crown and 2 game boards for kids to take home with them
3 felted covers in various kingdom's colors
What Else Are We Looking For?
If you are a youth aged 13 to 18 and you would like to do something "really cool" but you just don't know what, please have your parents contact the youth board (or contact Sabina directly at Lisa.lieder at jelly.toast.net). We have Laurels who want to help you find a very cool project-learn illumination, make a shade fly, learn enameling, blow glass, make your own pottery. You don't need to do the work at events and you don't need to do a lot of projects but you do need to be willing to commit yourself to a little research and a lot of elbow grease to make something wonderful for the crown and something wonderful for yourself.
If you are interested in finding out more, stop by Coronation's youth activities area on Saturday from 1:00-4:00 to see the beautiful projects-you might want to join us!
