The December issue of _The Crystal Quill_ will be about brewing and vintning. Since this is a very popular topic, I just *know* that I’m going to be inundated with articles.

The equestrian community really set the bar with the last issue. Come on, B&V folks: tell us about brewing/vintning in period, in the SCA, your funniest experience, your favorite experience... whatever strikes your fancy.

What I'm looking for in this issue:

  - articles (don't have to be long!)
  - suggested resources for further reading (Internet or hardcopy)
  - artwork! (sketches and cartoons are great)
  - announcements (birthdays, anniversaries, archaeology finds,
    "classifieds," you name it)

Deadline for submissions to the December issue is NOON on Saturday, November 25. Don’t wait to the last minute, when eating too much turkey will distract you -- start writing today!

Please read the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES found on the _Crystal Quill_ page of the Nordskogen Web site, www.nordskogen.northshield.org/quill.html. These are important!

If writing about brewing and vintning isn’t your thing, how about starting an article now one on of the other upcoming themes?

  - Jan 07 -- your first event (story time! Write about your very first time attending an SCA event. What was wonderful? What do you look back on and laugh about? What about the event made you want to come back for more –- or what made you think twice about sticking around? Everyone has a first event story; share yours!)

  - Feb 07 -- needlework / fiber arts (i.e. weaving, spinning, knitting, embroidery, dyeing... I KNOW we have a strong community in this area. What do you know about needle/fiber arts in period? What recommendations do you have for folks just starting out? What was your most fun experience? Tell us all about it!)

Make your Chronicler deliriously happy and become locally famous at the same time -- write an article or draw something today, and send it to nordskogenquill at yahoo.com.

  Yours in Service,

  - ban-Ollaimh Cinniu ingen Cuthbaid, OL
    Chronicler, Barony of Nordskogen
