I couldn't make the demo this year, but have a thought about the above
two pbservations.

What about a Village Green? This could be the center of focus, with
specific demos happening in it, or court, or combat, or what have you.
Alternately, it could be where a herald makes period announcements
about what is happening, what will be happening, and so on. The
various activities could surround or be easily visible from the Green,
like spokes coming out from the center of a wheel (more or less). We
could also make it stand out by having a few eye-cathcing pieces to
make it obvious that this is *the* place to come and get your bearings
- a loose circle of benches or chairs, a collection of pennants, a
stump or colorful pole or some such for the crier to use/stand by,
etc.

As for the concept/scene (on a general scale), we can adopt a Fair day
atmosphere, or a Saint's Day celebration, or even Market Day. Anything
period where people would flock to the local touwn square to trade,
gossip, play and so on. If people want to more specific tings basd on
that, then it would give everyone at least a starting point and common
frame of reference.

It sounds like the demo was a great success, even with the heat. Kudos
to all who braved it and wee able to make it happen!

regards,

Simon
