Excellent idea Sabina, I will continue.

I was increadibly impressed by everyone who came and participated. People made an effort to keep modern things out of site, they brought projects to demonstrate, they were open and friendly, and the site looked very nice.

I was especially impressed at the flexibility of the Baronial members. Despite the mis-communication from the liason for the park regarding the demo, people came prepared anyhow and were able to easily move into demo mode despite being told otherwise.

I'm glad that people thought the cooking went well, it made standing next to a hot fire all day Saturday worth it. Actually having the chicken come out of the coals and cooked perfectly, made the heat worth it. It was very exciting! I'm hoping that next time more people will stick around the cooking area if it is not too hot. Not much you can do about that though. We did have a couple of young kids who were very interested in what we were doing, much to the dismay of their mother who was concerned that they were getting to hot. We just kept pouring water in their cups and feeding them flat bread so they were fine.

Despite my own personal discomfort from the heat, I thought things went very well and I look forward to next year. I too second Sabina's suggestion that additional shade, work tables and benches should be something to shoot for next year. I would be happy to make my shade fly article that was published in the Quill and the Northwatch available to anyone who does not receive those publications.

I think having areas that have a specific focus is very good: cooking, fiber, combat, scriptorium, music.

I talked to a lot of people and had a really great time, as I hope others did as well. The Caponis appeared to be very happy with us. I did hear that they are considering moving the date of the Fair to sometime in June, which could be a problem for some of us who attend Lilies. I personally would rather see September or October, but I'd rather battle snow than 100+ weather any day. Since members from Nordskogen have been a part of this activity for the past few years we may want to suggest to the Caponis some possible dates/ months that would allow us to continue to participate.

  Giovanna
