[Nordskogen] Deadline for Quill Submissions is NOON on Saturday

  Reminder: The deadline for submissions to the August issue of _The Crystal Quill_ is NOON on THIS Saturday, July 22.
   
  THIS IS A *VERY* FIRM DEADLINE. Quite literally the only time I have to work on this issue is Saturday afternoon. I will not be able to accommodate submissions received after I begin work (that includes you, dear officers). Thank you!
   
  OFFICERS: We have been very light in the officer missives department. Please strongly consider composing a brief note to the populace about current affairs in your office.
                  
  The August issue of _The Crystal Quill_ will be all about rapier combat. Rapier community, it’s time to put down the blades and pick up the quills. Tell the Barony all about rapier combat -- in period, in the SCA. Write about a favorite personal experience, how your persona would have experienced rapier combat, what we know about rapier combat in period, how SCA rapier combat differs from period rapier combat, and so on.
   
  What I'm looking for:
   
  - articles (don't have to be long!)
  - suggested resources for further reading (Internet or hardcopy)
  - artwork!!!!! (sketches and cartoons are great)
  - announcements (birthdays, anniversaries, archaeology finds, 
    "classifieds," you name it)
   
  Please read the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES found on the _Crystal Quill_ page of the Nordskogen Web site, www.nordskogen.northshield.org/quill.html. THESE ARE IMPORTANT!
   
  If writing about rapier combat isn’t your thing, how about starting an article now one on of the other upcoming themes? 
   
  - Sep 06 – “heavy” combat (trade in your swords for the mightier pens and tell the Barony all about heavy combat -- in period, in the SCA.)
   
  - Oct 06 - sporting/hunting (what do you know about hunting methods or sporting events in your persona’s culture? Hint: I already have any article about coursing hounds; what can YOU send me?)
