mmmmmm.....  as a relatively new person, and also having had the recent 
opportunity to meet several new folks...... I share Gwen's persepective.  
These new people feel quite a bit ignored and left out, and that they must 
achieve some length of tenure and level of accomplishment before they are 
deemed worthy of notice.

I'd also like to point out manners, which was also mentioned to me: the 
general view that it is OK for someone to just interrupt, or barge in, on a 
conversation without so much as an 'excuse me....  Or, if they do at least 
say that, without waiting for consent of denial of permission, they just 
jump in with their own needs.....'
