Sorry Cinniu,

   It's late *and* short!

Please accept my apologies for this submission. I had a wonderful
first event which I remember fondly. It happened so long ago that I
only remember the high-lights.

My first event happened lo these 25 years ago. Then Lady Margaret of
Shaftsbury autocratted an event called "Guy Fawkes" toward the
beginning of November. I made my first garb of gold upholstery
material(I may just still have it), and sat my first feast. For
entertainment, I remember a re-enactment of the attempt to blow up
parliament. I seem to remember that Cadwallin took part in this.

After feast, we took a trip to Penn Lake. There, we burned Guy
Fawkes in effigy and a local fireworks club set off period fireworks
for us. Victor played the highland pipes while the fireworks flew!
It was a clear and star-filled night.

This is what I remember after these many years. I also remember
stories from those who introduced me to the SCA of their first event.

Lord Edward De Montaign had his first event at a court of chivalry.
He knew so little of SCA customs at that point, he wore a white belt
to the proceedings. I don't believe that was his name at the time,
however. That gentle has had a number of personae.

Yours out of service ;)
