To give credit where credit is due, I believe that Marwen designed this
clever joint for her pavillion's center pole.  I just assisted with the
construction.  I could be wrong, as that was several years ago.

The horizontal ridge pole on my tent is a nine foot long 2-by-four in a
single piece.  I transport it on my car's roof rack.
