I purchased steel square/ rectangular tubes from Discount Steel in North Minneapolis. http://www.discountsteel.com/

I used square stock for the original wedge tent project, but now I have switched over to a standard 2 x 4 for my ridge pole. Problem is there is no standard steel sleeve that fits a 2 x 4 (1 1/2" x 3 1/2") at Discount Steel. I ended up buying rectangular stock that was 2" x 4" and I screwed a 1/2" shim to the face and one edge of the 2 x 4 to make up the difference. This worked really well. I used a 20" piece of steel that was 14 ga. You can use 16 ga as well, 11 is a bit heavier than is necessary. The real sucky bit is that Discount Steel now charges $5/ cut.

Panther Primitives sells steel sleeve for a ridge pole and last i look I thought it ran $25-30? (not including shipping).

Another possible supplier is King Architectural metals, www.kingmetals.com. They sell hammered rectangular tubing that is 2" x 4"x 8' long for around $52. I don't know if they would sell just a 20" piece, or what the cost would be, but they might be worth checking.

I will try to bring my ridge pole for my loaner wedge to the demo tonight so you can look at it.
